Kirsten’s American Girl PJ’s
This was the first Pleasant company pattern I made, you can download this pattern and the other dolls for free at AG Playthings.
Nightgown from Kirsten’s Pretty Clothes Pattern
When making this I took some photos along the way, I’ll try and list what I changed up, and how things went along the way.
I almost skipped the quilting and interfacing step of this pattern since I was feeling lazy. I’m SOO glad that I didn’t especially since I went with a contrast look.
This is me sewing lace onto the placket, I sewed right sides together, then pressed open, then top stitched it onto the front.
On the collar I carefully sandwiched my lace between the pieces so just a little stuck out.
Sewing the collar on was a little tricky…
Their Velcro method was confusing, so I hade the Velcro stick out on tabs, like on one of my American Girl long sleeve shirts.
Raw edges turned under on the sleeves.

Darling! My daughters would love nightgowns for their AG dolls. Thank you for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! It was fun to make out of cozy flannel. Even though it's a loose nightgown if they have the newer style dolls (they are skinnier through the torso) I'd definitely use wider seam allowances and try them on along the way. These patterns were made of the older dolls which can 'squeeze' into the newer clothes, but the new dolls seem to 'swim' in the older clothes.
DeleteThis takes me back a few years. My daughter's American Girl dolls are packed away now but maybe someday I will have a granddaughter. :D Thanks for sharing.
